Here's an init script I whipped up for RedHat Linux.

Hi Scott,
I think the current cruise init script and associated daemon_helper should be pretty cross-platform (they worked for me on OSX). There are some debian-specific comments at the top about update-rc.d, but that's all I know of.
Can you try it out and see if it works for you, and let us know of any problems on redhat? If you want to submit a documentation patch for the update-rc.d comment, that would be great too.
